This early 1972 350 SL 4.5 liter V8 was owned by seller for 4 and a half years and runs and drives very good with excellent oil pressure and temperature. The current mileage is 92730. The engine is very healthy and strong.
The early 350 SLs V8 engines had more power and were rated at 230 HP with free exhaust and no catalytic converter.
This car is factory dated October 1971 and chassis number is 10704400121610
The 72 and 73 models have the nice elegant euro bumpers.
The previous owner has replaced the fuel tank and MB Tex seats. The carpets are in good shape, the dash has no cracks.
We have gone through the brakes, replaced all hoses and pads, water pump and chain tensioner. Air and oil filters are Mann brand.
Tires are 1 year old, new Bosch spark plugs and wires + coil. All belts are in excellent shape. An oil change with liqui moly 10-40  German oil was done last month.

A new exhaust muffler and pipes were installed last year. We did not tackle the AC system.
Interior looks very nice with original carpet and a correct  Becker Europa radio was sourced to replace ugly modern one.
This is an early model (Oct 1971) with manual windows and nice chromed shifter, the clock is working.
the seats are Black MB Tex and are in fine shape. All gauges work + wipers and horn. I have the MB tool set in the trunk.
An older soft top in black is present and hard top is in good shape.
I have never driven in the rain and only use ethanol free gas since 2019
We replaced all 8 injection and fuel hoses. Ignition is Pertronix system.
The Becker radio is not connected and instrument lights are not working.

A number of parts will come with the car, new ac filter drier, new front lower suspension bushes. And a Haynes manual.
The paint is old and shows some water spots on front and back, the hard top looks fine. The chrome and rubber strips look very good and all four factory hubcaps are ok. A spare wheel is in boot. This car is rust free and very healthy and clean all over.
The original windshield has some chips but looks fine. Clear Louisiana title.
Thanks for your interest in this 350 SL. Over the years I have owned an Alfa, MG, Triumph, Lancia and Austin Mini. The early 350SL has a lot of class and elegance and were called panzerwagen (tanks) by the factory workers when production started in 1971.
