This is a piece of history; over the years this has become known as, “The Theremin Speaker.” In 1928 the model Loudspeaker 106 Electro-Dynamic was RCA’s top-of-the-line speaker; in 1926 RCA invented the Theremin, which was the world’s first electronic musical instrument. They coupled their best speaker with it, the 106. This speaker is in excellent condition there are a few small marks in the cabinet, as you can see in the pictures. The cabinet, which is made out of mahogany, I believe was manufactured by the Aimone Furniture Co. of Jersey City, N.J. RCA has a brass plaque on the outside of the cabinet surrounding the On/Off switch. This speaker measures 24” x 11.5” x 34.25”. This unit plugs into the wall and has circuitry inside. The speaker, itself, is original as are the two selenium rectifiers and the transformer. There is a switched AC power outlet on the unit. The Tapestry on the cabinet is in great shape and, I believe, is unique to this speaker. I think that you’ll agree that this speaker really is a piece of Radio/Audio history. If you need more pictures or information, please let me know. BTW this does not work with Bluetooth.
