I've been right through this amp and electrically cleaned and serviced all controls and sockets, and tested the electronics throughout. I'm a bit OCD about amps so have even installed a brand new reverb unit to replace the incorrect one I found in there. It's all working perfectly and is a blast to play!
This is one of Fender's higher quality amps, made in the USA not China! It's a hybrid design with a valve in the drive channel for the best of both worlds — solid state reliability and aggressive valve-like distortion tones.
Typical shimmering Fender clean sounds. the drive channel has its own set of treble, body and bass tone controls as well as separate gain and volume. The almost un limited combinations of gain and tone let you dial up any tone from a sweet sustain to aggressive, growling overdrive.
There's an FX loop with a three-way gain switch, so you can use any external effects you like from simple stomp boxes to rack units, without any unwanted distortion. Amplifiers without this gain select feature often struggle to match external FX.
Seriously loud 65 watt amp so you can rely on it for performance as well as rehearsal/practice.
