Here is a set of seven different Irish coins from halfpenny to half crown. They are all in very fine condition and better... please check photos. They are absolute beauties and include a superb 1961 halfcrown and a 1934 threepence.
The coins are by Percy Metcalf, (1895-1970) who won the competition to design the first coins for the Government of the Irish Free State. The rural farming and wildlife theme was known as the Barnyard set. There is still the farthing to add to the set and they come up from time to time on ebay.
This listed set consists of;
Half Crown Irish hunter horse 1961
Florin Salmon 1964
Shilling Bull 1954
Sixpence Irish Wolfhound 1942
Threepence Irish hare 1934
Penny Hens & chicks 1942
Halfpenny Sow & piglets 1953
Rest assured these are not stock photos..... but the actual coins that are for sale and the ones you will receive.
The photos were taken in natural light and have not been modified or digitally enhanced in any way.
I always combine postage on multiple items.
Thanks for looking.
