Published in ca 1880 in London by Cassell, Peter & Gapling and Co famous for its numerous and very quality engravings of which this volume is also proud of, having numerous full page steel plates and numerous in page illustrations too, richly decorated. 

In pictorial gilded brown cloth binding with gilded page ends.

Volume 1 only of a 5 volumes set

Offered in acceptable condition with wear and tear that shall be expected from books of this age, with scuffs and discoloration to boards, foxing, etc
