A vintage EMS SoundBeam Master in excellent condition.

You get:

The main unit
Ultrasonic transducer
MIDI IN/OUT leads
Original power supply

It is spotlessly clean with a few light marks to the lid from use.  It's easy to set up, and once going it's great!

As a 'demo' I've recorded a complete mess using the SoundBeam and my phone using an OTG adapter, cheap Chinese USB to MIDI converter, and the best Android app ever written, RockRelay Synth FM.  I'll try to add it as a video/audio file, the wobbliness is added with the transducer, not the synth LFO.

Turns out the file is incompatible with ebay.

I've had it working well with a Roland D10, Korg Poly800 and Prophecy, various old Casios, and I'll try it with my original Odyssey with the CV input as soon as the replacement sliders arrive.  My CS5 doesn't really like it very much.

It has ten operating modes - some monophonic, some poly, a transpose control, and a range control.  The range control adjusts the distance it takes to traverse the octaves (you get a couple of octaves and the transposition control), not operating distance of the ultrasonic wand.  Some operating modes allow note layering to create chords, wave the hand close to the transducer to cut.  With marks on the floor, it's easy to play it like a laser harp.

The short/long switch adjusts the output of the transducer, and really has never done much.  An LED on the front lights when the unit is triggered by the transducer.

I've never owned an instruction manual for this and for years have probably not been using it effectively, still, I've been honoured to own one of the rarest synth add-ons imaginable.

MIDI IN/OUT, CV out, mute switch, AC adapter is 230VAC UK mains - and AC output.

No Polymoogs, synthesisers, or any accessories (other than those listed) are included.
