Les Barton (1923 - 2008) was a well known cartoonist and comic illustrator.  He worked for many popular journals of the time like Punch, Privare Eye, Sketch and Daily Mirror.  He was a founding member of the Cartoonists Club of Great Britain.

 This is a watercolour of a Santa's reindeer stopping quickly ejecting him out of the sleigh into the snow..  The reindeer looks very please with itself as it looks at a snowman Santa.

The painting is on cartridge paper and looks like an original for a humorous Christmas card.  On the reverse is a stamped artist's address and reference AS 012 & John Bartlett Design.
