Many Dead Heads will tell you that 1977 was the best year for Grateful Dead performances, and the May was the finest month. Almost every May '77 show has been released in one authorized form or another. I personally was lucky enough to see 3 shows between late April and the end of May that year, including the show following this one, and I can tell you they were on fire! They had been working on "Terrapin Station" since January and the whole album made it into this show, from the opener, "The Music Never Stopped" to "Terrapin Station" itself, leading off the 2nd set jam. Another great night from the Grateful Dead at their peak.
