My Grandfather who was born in 1881 made a collection of prints from the London Illustrated News and other publications featuring Native Americans and bound them together in a book. I should imagine he did this as a teenager making them over 100 years old


This auction is for one page which features 2 prints of illustrations drawn

The larger one has the storyline 'The rancher waited until he was within five yards and fired point blank in his face but the bullet struck the stock of the whirling rifle and before he had time to fire a second shot the Indian was upon him'

The smaller one simple say Red Indians in Native dress - my grandfather has drawn a border on this one

The larger one measure approx 20 cm by 14cm and they are mounted on a larger piece of paper as shown
