This is a Mini Nantucket Basket with a Handle and Lid that is perfect for storage or display.  The lid of the basket is attached by woven straps and can be closed and secured using a toggle.    This mini-basket is about 5 inches tall, and the handle adds another 1.5 inches.  The diameter of the basket is about 4 inches, and it sits on a small wooden base.  The lid has a painted round wooden top,  with a painting of flowers in a basket,  signed Hayden.  The toggle and top piece are probably painted wood, and the rest of the basket is woven.  

Although this is a vintage used item, there are no marks or signs of damage.  This is a great keepsake or gift for anyone who loves the iconic Nantucket Baskets.
