From the crotch seam down the inside of the leg to the end of the leg opening - not to the floor.

Outside leg

From the top of the waist band down the outside seam to the end of the leg opening.

Leg opening

Measurement from the inside seam to the outside seam at the end of the leg - not the measurement 

around the leg opening.

Rise 

From the crotch seam to the top of the waist band above the button or fastening.

Width across waist

With the garment laid flat. Measurement on top of the waist band from one side to the other - not stretched.

Collar around

With the shirt open, laid flat and spread out. Measurement from centre of the top button across the

neckband to the far end of the opposing button hole; with the neckband spread out and pulled tight.

Width across shoulders

Uppermost end of shoulder across the back to the opposite side.

Pit to pit

The measurement from one armpit seam to the opposite armpit seam.

Top of shoulder to hem

Where the shoulder meets the neck down to the bottom of the garment.
