A UNIQUE MOORCROFT TEA FOR TWO SET IN THE "HEPATICA ASHWOOD" TRIAL COLOURWAY PATTERN 2000

This is a Unique Moorcroft Tea for two set decorated in the "Hepatica Ashwood" pattern made as a one off trial colourway and dates from 2000. The set was made over 2 days on 7th and 8th December 2000.

The Tea pot measures 5 1/4" in diameter, 9" across the handle to spout and 4 1/2" high with lid in place. It carries the backstamps " Moorcroft, Made in Stoke on Trent England, C99, "Trial 8.12.2000" along with the Millenium Key cypher for the tear 2000. The cups measure 3 5/8" in diameter and stand 2 1/2" high. The saucers measure 5 1/4" in diameter whilst the plates are 7 7/8". The cream and sugar stand 2 3/8" high and are 3 1/8"in diameter.

This set was decorated by Chris Bell and tubelined by Jeanette Sneyd.


All 9 items are decorated all around with large Hepatica flowers in shades of Lila, Purple, Green and Yellow backed by Green leaves over a Cream and deep Ochre ground. The Hepatica tea set was issued as standard in a Purple and Cream ground.

The set is in excellent condition with a number of the items having their original retail stickers from the Moorcroft factory shop. This set originally retailed for £1185.
