Up for auction is a vintage Stanley Number 4 USA made smoothing plane. I believe it dates to the late1950's   It is a recent find. It has seen minimal use, and shows only minor user wear, but it had surface rust and has been lightly cleaned. It still has some minor stains and discoloration .   It could use some minor additional cleaning.  The handle and knob are both in  good and solid condition,  There is some minor dents and dings in the wood, , there is no cracks breaks or repairs.  The blade has some stains and discoloration. It has a small chip in the edge and will need some sharpening.  The lever cap retains almost all of the original nickel plating.  The japanning is great, but is slightly dirty, the majority of the original japanning is present.    Please see all pictures for condition.
