This is a super rare all original annual car kit box for a 1:25th scale 1969 American Motors AMX 2 seater coupe #Y922-200 made by AMT. This scarce 55 year old kit was sold in hobby shops, department stores, 5 & 10 stores, and toy stores for 1 year only. From the fall of 1968 through the summer of 1969. This vintage highly detailed kit has never been reissued by AMT.
This never built or painted automobile kit was originally a 3-in, which included parts to build any one of the following ways: Stock, Custom, or Funny car. Parts remain for only the stock version. It is stock complete except for most engine parts, the horn, and the gear shift. Some parts remain on their original factory trees. The only damage to included unused parts are a clean break in the area in front of the windshield which is covered by the hood (see photo). Also the glass has a clean break in the hidden portion which connects the windshield and the rear window. Neither flaw is visible once the car is completed. The 8.25" x 5.25" x 2.75" cardboard kit box is in good condition. It is complete and intact with strong edges and corners. No taped repairs anywhere. The box cover has some storage type minor scuffs and light creases in the box cover (see photos). Box colors are still bright and shiny. The box bottom is complete and intact.
An ultra rare vintage 55 year old car boxed kit in this condition is a must for any AMC, AMX / Javelin, or 1:24th / 1:25th model car fan or collector who seeks the rarest and best available for display or build.
