This 2023 Palau $20 3 oz Silver Charon - Ferryman of the Dead is graded a PF70 by NGC. There is only 666 minted and is sold out at the mint. It comes with a themed display box and certification of authenticity.

Charon, who resided in the Greek Underworld, was burdened with the duty of being the ferryman of the dead, crossing the newly departed over the river Acheron. To secure passage, the deceased had to pay Charon’s fee, such as an obolos or Persian denace, which ensured that proper funeral rites had been performed. Those unable to pay would haunt Acheron’s banks for a century as ghosts.

Obverse depicts the Palau coat of arms.

Reverse features an image of Charon in a boat with money in the front and in the river are lost souls that he is getting ready to ferry across.
