Description
This is a nice, crisp uncirculated, "Ten Thousand Yüan" note from the "Central Bank of China". These were issued in 1947 just after World War II.
In 1947, China was in the midst of the “Chinese Civil War” between the Nationalists and the Communists.
“The Central Bank of China” was located in Nanking (now Nanjing), China. After the “Chinese Civil War”, the bank was relocated to Taiwan by the Nationalist government. The bank was renamed to the “Central Bank of the Republic of China” in 1949. In 1961, the bank was replaced by the “Bank of Taiwan” as the central bank of Taiwan

Face: 114525 • Series 63-A • Red Brown. • Sun Yat-sen. He was a physician, writer, philosopher and revolutionary. He became the first President and the founding father of the Republic of China. Born November 12, 1866, he became President in 1912, and died on March 12, 1925, from liver cancer.
