Still reported in a state of nervous collapse, Mrs. Lois Pantages, wife of the multi-millionaire theater man, was taken in a wheelchair to Superior Judge Carlos S. Hardy's court to learn that she will remain home under probation. The wealthy woman, convicted last September 25 of manslaughter for the killing of Juro Rokomoto, Japanese, in an automobile accident, has been bedridden and under constant care of physicians since the jury brought in its verdict. She has been permitted to remain on $50,000 bail by order of Judge Hardy because of her condition. Nurse Bramon is pictured hiding Mrs. Pantages from cameramen while jail Intern H.E. Sterner waits on the wealthy woman.


Alexander Pantages was a Greek American vaudeville impresario and early motion picture producer. He created a large and powerful circuit of theatres across the Western United States and Canada. At the height of his empire, he owned or operated 84 theatres across the United States and Canada.
