Vintage Busvine Navy Side saddle
habit made in the 1920's. Purchased from original owners relatives back in

Note if you are a size 8 with large
biceps from too much shovelling Horse muck it may be a tat tight over your
biceps. It was made for a slim lady who did not engage in heavy horse work !!

This is a really heavy weight habit.
It does not photograph as well as it
looks... it is not dirty as some photos appear to suggest.
Single cross over button fastening.
Over time there have been hook and eyes sewn in to enhance the fit ( stop it
gaping if you have not enough bust).

Apron
has full modest flap that double
buttons away when riding, and then unbuttons when unmounted to preserve the
lady rider's modest ( cant see your breeches/jods)
waist to hem is 27.5 inches.
waist to knee is 15 inches

waist is 26.5 inches

Apron lined in sections with cotton
drill. This is how it was originally made.
Please see the pictures of the damage
to some areas on the apron: 1 at the bottom of the apron / on the fold where
the modest flap starts. 1, about 1 inch long on the apron above the hem line. 1
at the apron hem point, which is only just visible. 1 on the apron where it is
behind your leg, and 1 some small holes at the apron knee dart.
All are only visible on close
inspection. Got me 10 out of 10 on habit score as part of Turnout phase at
equitation at the National Show.
