Collection of frameable plates by A. J. Casson

This is a collection of mostly rural watercolours by one of Canada's most respected Group of Seven artists, A. J. Casson.

The 1982 First Edition hardcover book in near Fine condition.

It has no writing or ownership marks, no tears, no underlining and no library marks. Binding is tight, pages are clean, spine is robust and cloth-covered boards are unblemished.

The oversize book features 30 full-colour plates that might be suitable for framing as they are printed on only one side of a heavy coated paper stock.

The remainder of the 142-page book is made up of a Foreword by art critic Paul Duval, extensive commentary by the artist, a description of each of his chosen watercolours, and numerous other color images and black white illustrations.

The book measures 13 by 13 1/2 inches and is firmly held together by a strong binding, rubust heavyweight boards and a flawless textblock.

There are no signs of prior ownership: no names or inscriptions, no bookplates or bookstore marks, no bent corners or moisture damage.

Textblock is is unmarked, with bright unmarked pages and stunning color reproductions.

The protective dustjacket has chipped edges along the top and bottom, as you would expect in a large 42-year-old volume.
