Here are two pre 1959, Homer Laughlin China, 6 inch side plates, in their Art Deco inspired Harlequin dinnerware, in the 1950's gray glaze. These plates capture Harlequin's classic art deco style influence of the era, w/its flat sharp rim, and banded body. HLC/Fiesta produced this shape for Woolworth Five and Dime Stores till the early 1960's.  A convenient size w/great tabletop presence. More are available.
