From my small camera collection is a beautiful Blair view camera in the 6 1/2 x 8 1/2, full plate format.  Overall, the camera is in great condition and is ready to shoot plates, or by adding some film sheaths, shoot film as I have.

Included as shown in the photos are 2 Blair plate holders in working condition and the camera extension rail.

The 8" focal length lens does not have a brand name on it, but is clean and clear.  It has an aperture that works well and has marked positions, #1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.  I caluculated the f/stops to be f/6, f/7, f/9, f/13 and f/21.  This lens covers the format well at near distances, meaning portraits and close up shots, but at infinity focus there is vigineting.

The original fabric type bellows are in good condition and flex well, but do have some pinholes.  I kept my dark cloth over when making an expsoure and it works fine.  The original ground glass is cracked as shown.  The original "turn button" to hold the lens board is missing, currently being held tight with a piece of gaffers tape.

This is a rather hard to find model from the Blair line of cameras, sold in the 1890's.  In fact, in my many years of enjoying antique cameras, I have never seen another one in this format size.

A sample image of a bird house taken with the camera has been uploaded, the lens set wide open at f/6.  Certainly gives a dreamy effect to the image at f/6, stopped down things sharpen up nicely.

The tripod shown in the photos is not included.

Thank you for looking.

No returns please.
