* GOLDEN DREAMS CALENDAR INFORMATION: On May 27, 1949 Marilyn Monroe posed for the calendar photograph that would one day make her a household name. Tom Kelley produced 24 transparencies of two basic poses of Marilyn Monroe lying nude on red velvet titled A New Wrinkle & Marilyn Monroe seated nude on red velvet titled Golden Dreams. Golden Dreams became the most popular of the two appearing on calendars, decks of cards, pinback buttons, cuff links, key chains, trays, coasters, glasses & a host of other pinup collectibles. In December of 1953 Golden Dreams was used to launch the premiere issue of Hugh Hefner's Playboy magazine.

* PHOTOGRAPHER INFORMATION: TOM KELLEY - December 12, 1914 - January 8, 1984 was an American Hollywood photographer. David O. Selznick & Samuel Goldwyn retained Tom to take promotional photos of their stars & starlets for magazine covers & advertising. Famous celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Gary Cooper, Greta Garbo, James Cagney, Clark Gable, Bob Hope, Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Roosevelt & Churchill. Kelley is best known for his iconic 1949 nude photos of Marilyn Monroe, one of which was distributed widely as calendar art & was featured in the inaugural issue of Playboy magazine in 1953.
