This is a super clean, mint, clamp on front derailleur. 34.9mm clamp size, if you need smaller, any bike shop will have inexpensive shims. Important to note, this is a Top Pull front derailleur. This means your cable enters from above the derailleur, and pulls the lever up.
This derailleur was designed for a three speed front triple crankset, from the 8 speed rear era. Hence it is marked "8 speed compatible", but it's really 3. I've never seen an 8 speed crankset. But it is certainly compatible with 8 speed rear derailleur systems.
Date code is "SJ" = October 1994.
