Description A fabulous English/Scottish antique early 19th Century Georgian solid sterling silver & cowrie shell snuff box in excellent clean condition and dating from around 1820-1830. Lovely quality with a reeded solid silver mounted rim, it has a hinged silver lid with its original fully gilt-lined interior and has a beautiful undamaged cowrie shell top. Decorated with a nice historic engraved entwined monogram. Superb example.

Measurements Measures approx 2.7 inches (68mm) x 2.4 inches (60mm) and is 1.25 inches (32mm) deep. 

Date English/Scottish antique Georgian solid sterling silver, unmarked is usually the case with these genuine early 19th century examples, 100% guaranteed antique silver and dates from around 1820-1830.

Condition Excellent condition with no splits or repairs to the silver mounts, no dents and the silver lid hinge still works perfectly and the lid opens and closes securely. The interior gilding is original and still virtually 100% intact and most importantly the beautiful original cowrie shell is in superb undamaged condition with no cracks or hairlines and no restoration, (marks inside shell are natural, definitely not damage). Stunning genuine antique Georgian example and very tactile.
