Vintage 1950's Ballgown Tulle Layered Pale White Lace Party Ballgown cocktail wedding

Beautiful original ballgown/wedding dress etc, with generous layers of Tulle and Lace

There is a lot to describe on this wonderful vintage dress. Sleeves with press studs at the bottom of the cuffs to make it a close fit around the wrist

On top of the dress it is lace which is in good condition for the age.

At the back of the dress there are three wonderful large bows. There is cream satin at the knot part of the bone. The dress is very fitted to the waist and at the front of the dress has some lovely rose shaped satin details - several of these are subtly placed underneath the top lace to give it depth and intrigue.

There are two layers of fine netting at the front the top layer has a tear which I have shown in the photographs so this would need a sympathetic repair. Underneath the netting in a silk sort of skirt (this would need a wash it has some brown stains and some original mud stains I think From used back in the 1950s. Photos show.

Underneath that is a kind of starched linen material which is hooped at the bottom in two places to make it stand out like a fairytale dress. This stiff linen type of underskirt petticoat is in really nice condition for its age. At the top obviously this is covered by lace

In terms of measurements the actual skirt part of the dress from the waist seam is approximately 40 inches. The lace bodice top part from the neckline to the waist measures 15 inches

The waste itself measures approximately 12 inches

The length of the sleeves from the shoulder seam measures approximately 24 inches

Armpit to armpit is 18 inches

Lovely genuine item The condition is quite good for the age to be honest – it does need a dry clean and some stains addressing, and part of the underskirt netting has got a tear in it. I’ve started it off at a low price with the condition in mind
