⬛︎ The EICO HF-85 is a vacuum tube preamplifier.
It's from the late 1950s to the 1960s.
EICO's vacuum tube amplifiers are quite rare to come by.
They are lightweight and compact.
In the United States, EICO is considered a major manufacturer alongside brands like MARANTZ and McIntosh.
As a bonus, a step-up transformer is included.
While it works fine with 100V directly, using the transformer is recommended.
I occasionally powered it on to listen to music.
It's in working condition, but the power lamp does not light up.
It produces a gentle sound characteristic of vacuum tube amplifiers.
The sound of a JAZZ piano is particularly outstanding.
Feel free to replace the vacuum tubes according to your preference.
It's compatible with phono, record playback, cassette tape playback, AUX inputs, and CD playback from inputs A and B without any issues.
For CD playback, the leftmost terminal in the row of four on the upper right side serves as the L channel and AUX1. Connect the leftmost terminal of the row of three below it for the R channel, and the adjacent terminal serves as AUX2.
Connect it to a power amplifier from the OUT terminal near the power cable.
