The pen listed here is the Sheaffer Balance 500. This is a later version given the clip, nib, and section design. This is a nice and solid pen. Good luck!
CAP and BARREL
This Sheaffer Balance is in EXCELLENT condition. There are no cracks to the cap. The surface of the pen is nice and smooth. The lever works smoothly. The manufacturer's barrel stamping is entirely present and easy to read (see photos for details). The gold-filled trim is clean.
SHEAFFER 2-TONE 14K FEATHER TOUCH #5 NIB

This Sheaffer Balance 500 features its original 2-tone 14K Feather Touch #5 nib. The nib is firm as most Sheaffer nibs are. The nib is nice, smooth, and capable of rapid writing. I have tuned it to work well with my favorite paper, Clairefontaine Triomphe 90 gsm paper. 

RESTORATION SERVICES
This fetching Sheaffer Balance 500 fountain pen has been cleaned and tested for function (filling and writing). It is READY TO WRITE upon filling with standard fountain pen ink.
  • A new correctly sized Latex Ink Sac has been installed with the addition of 100% Pharmaceutical Grade Talcum Powder (an exceptional dry lubricant). 
  • The 2-tone 14K Sheaffer Balance nib has been adjusted for smoothness and flow. Beyond making sure that the pens II restore write, I like to make sure they write well. Using a loupe, premium micro-abrasives, and when necessary, specially made nib repair tools each nib is carefully adjusted to provide an enjoyable writing experience based on the particular characteristics of the nib. This Sheaffer Balance 500 fountain pen has been tuned such that it is an absolute delight to write with. 
  • The Sheaffer Balance 500 has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and has been conservatively polished.
