This auction is for 2 children’s picture books from 1991 that were written and illustrated by Guy Gilchrist. “I am having an excellent day!” and “in my own backyard” feature a cat from Kitt’nville named Mudpie. The stories follow a group of animals as they explore the wonders of nature in their backyard and as they deal with the good (and slightly less good) things that can happen in a day. With beautiful illustrations and a charming narrative, these books are sure to capture the imagination of young readers. Gilcrest is well-known for his Nancy Comics illustrations.

The books are in very good condition even though they are kids books that are over 30 years old. They have hardcovers and are approximately 19 pages each. See photos for more details about content, condition, and reading level but I’d say the books are intended for ages 4-8.
