Finding I-series boxes in this condition is very rare. In fact, most people would tell you that the boxes from this series are more valuable than the car itself!

Here's some history behind this box:

 This particular Matchbox box (and, at one time, car) was purchased along with others many years ago from a distributor specializing in handling retailers returns/liquidations. It seems that, at least in this case, the wrong car was in the box that was sent from the retailer to the distributor.  In this particular Mercedes box was a Datsun 260-7 (#67). To avoid misleading anyone, I will sell the car separately and not include any car photos in this listing. This listing is selling the empty box only. 

The reason why this box is in such good condition is that these have been safely stored away for almost 40 years!
