Product Description Thirty years after his death, Ihei Kimura's color work "Paris," which had never been seen in the public eye, has been re-evaluated internationally for half a century since its shooting, and with the participation of the Arles International Photography Festival, it has been highly evaluated internationally.
This book contains a selection of 78 works from the large-scale photo book "Kimura Ebei's Paris," which is a compilation of 170 phantom color works.
Author Biography (From "BOOK Author Introduction Information") Kimura/Ihei Born in Shimoya, Tokyo in 1901.
In 1930, he acquired a Leica and began working as a professional in advertising photography for Kao soap. He
distinguished himself with a snapshot of downtown Tokyo published in the magazine Hikari-ga and the "Leica Portrait of a Literary Artist Exhibition."
After that, he was active as a "master of Leica users" before and after the war.
In 1950, he became the first president of the Japan Photographers Association.
As an amateur leader, he promoted the "Realist Photography Movement" together with Ken Domon.
In 1954, he was awarded the Arts Medal.
He also visited China before and after the restoration of diplomatic relations as the head of a delegation of photographers visiting China.
