This is a lovely painting by the Cornish artist Nan (Nancy) Frankel 1921-2000. This is a charming print of 3 standing figures is executed as an etching and dates circa 1980s and came from the artists studio sale. She follows in the great tradition of West country artists from Terry Frost, Patrick Heron, through to Anthony Frost and Sheila Holland.
The work measures 10x7 inches and comes unframed and in studio condition, it is signed and is an artists proof. This fine piece will reframe very effectively.
Nan Frankel began painting late in life, living in St Ives for 20 years up until her death. She produced a large and impressive body of work, which was characterised by a fresh, often joyous and vigorous approach. Her subjects ranged from nudes to landscapes and her oeuvre encompassed not only painting, but also monoprints and lithographs. Her work was held in many galleries and private collections and each piece being offered for sale gives collectors an opportunity to acquire abstract art at its very best.
