Elena Gual Baquera

Elena Gual, is an artist born in Mallorca, Spain, in 1994 who found her passion for painting from an early age. She grew up as an only child, so her distractions were based on music, dance and art.

She moved to England at the age of 16 to be able to continue studying painting more intensely, it was there that she was recommended to continue her studies at the Florence Academy of Art. After training and graduating there as a classical painter in 2016, Elena continued her studies at Central Saint Martins and at the Royal Academy in London.

At the end of her academic training, Gual devoted most of her time to commissioned portraits. It was not until an allergic reaction to turpentine made her exchange the brush for the spatula that Elena did not begin to find her own style by which today she can be recognized without the need to see her signature on the canvas. With this new technique, she finds the freedom that she always longed for and focuses as the main protagonist of her work on the figure of women in all their shapes, ages and races, whom she manages to analyze in depth on her numerous trips around the world.

In this line of work in which she is completely devoted, she is given the opportunity to exhibit solo in the great capitals of the world such as London and New York, as well as participate in prestigious art fairs in the capital of her native country, Madrid, thus getting to introduce her work in the collections of important art collectors worldwide.

Currently, Elena lives in Spain as she maintains an introspection exercise in which the intention of surprising herself and those around her does not cease, without ruling out reaching out to new techniques and disciplines.
