The novel is drawn from Queen Victoria"s diaries and correspondences and reimagines the story of how a sheltered eighteen-year-old girl ascended to the British throne, become a major force in politics, and fell in love with her husband.

According to a review on Amazon, the book is a classic of historical fiction, superior to much in that genre which is being written today. The reviewer writes that this is the real Victoria, more cold, cruel and unliveable than Henry VIII. You really feel for the shy, sensitive Albert trapped in marriage with a woman he, rightly, dislikes, and poor Edward born to such an unmotherly monster.

Book will be packed well for posting.
