This is a used Sony XAV-64BT Car Double-Din Head Unit with a Touchscreen, Bluetooth and USB.

It DOES NOT SUPPORT CarPlay/Android Auto.

There are minor scratches and wear on the bezel. The screen has no noticeable scratches but has faint wear from fingers touching the on-screen buttons in the same place.

I tested the unit connected to a 12V power supply and an external speaker via the RCA output on the back of the stereo.

I connected my iPhone via the Bluetooth; the music plays fine but it doesn’t display the album art (this is probably by design).

I connected my iPhone via the USB and lightning cable (I believe, it’s called iPod mode), again the music plays and it also displays the album art while using Music app and streaming with YouTube Music. It worked with the iPhone 13 Pro, I’m not sure if it works with newer iPhones with the USB c port.

The unit DOES NOT have Apple CarPlay.

It plays MP3s on the USB drive but there’s probably a drive size limit because it didn’t work with the 64GB drive but it did work with the 2GB one formatted to FAT32.

I played a DVD, it worked fine at the start of the movie but it was stuttering in the middle but the only DVD I could find was scratched a bit so that might explain it. To watch DVDs you have to connect the parking brake wire to the car or to the ground as a bypass.

Including with the unit are external microphone, the plug with wires, screws and plastic brackets although I don’t know what car these brackets are for. It’s probably missing the original bezels that fit between the car dashboard and the stereo.

The manual and the wiring diagram are available on the internet, just google “Sony XAV-64BT manual” or “Sony XAV-64BT wiring diagram”
