Thinning out my 30+ year collection of great Baltimore Maryland and Carroll County soda, beer and whiskey bottles.  Any references to a # are from the 2019 edition of Baltimore’s Pre-Prohibition Breweries & Bottles (also available on ebay).

Please look at the pictures carefully.  I can provide additional pictures upon request.

Offered for sale we have #2005, a hand thrown clay vessel from Baltimore, MD.  10.5 inches tall by 5inch in diameter and weighing in at just over 4 lbs. Not much can be found regarding Mr. Levies however the few stoneware bottles recovered all share the same shape, size, blue dipped tops and incising with Lev1es misspelled using a #1 vs the letter i.  Most likely operating for a very short time in the early 1850s based on the shape.  While I cannot be sure, please consider this bottle as having some repair as there is a discolored line from what appears to be a sealed crack? on the bottom.  It has sat on my self for about 25 years and while I do remember purchasing it, I do not recall any disclosed information from that time.  Regardless this is a super hard to find vessel to obtain.

Incised as:
