This extremely hard to score 1956 vintage Athearn Pogo 09 control line/free flight model airplane engine is in excellent condition. Compression is strong, lug holes circular, and the front bearing tight. Engine is quite clean, and appears to have low time.

This is a very interesting motor. They were produced by Athearn, who was otherwise known for model railroad cars and supplies. This Pogo is an early version, which employs radial mounting only (mounting beams came later). They were sold only as mounted in a ready to fly model of the Convair vertical takeoff and landing model.

If you collect unusual, early small glow motors, look no further.
