Description A beautiful heavy English antique Victorian solid sterling silver Albert pocket watch chain in excellent condition and with English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1888. Lovely quality and all original and matching with nice close silver graduating chain links and with a silver t-bar and a secure silver swivel/dog catch. Attached on the fob chain is a handsome large antique solid silver medal with no added personal inscriptions and it weighs a heavy 54 grams, (total). Superb silver Albert, looks very little used.

Measurements Measures approx 12 inches (307mm) in length, with a further 2 inches on the fob chain. The wider chunkier chain links in the middle are 8mm wide.

Date English antique solid sterling silver with English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1888, (date letter "o") on the t-bar and on the swivel/dog catch, so definitely all original and there are clear lion passant silver hallmarks on all the chain links. The silversmiths initials on the t-bar and dog catch are "G.E.G" (George Edward Gee - 1888 - 1907) and the attached silver medal is hallmarked Birmingham 1898.

Condition Excellent condition with no splits or repairs and with hardly any wear on the chain links, a lovely genuine example and a genuine 136 years old. A good heavy weight and the original silver swivel/dog catch still works perfectly and closes securely. The beautiful attached silver medal is also in excellent condition and has no added personal engravings.
