freshly laundered so the bit of paint and some darker "grime" spots are there for good, i suspect.  no stains or defects that reach out and grab you by the eye but up close, there is a little bit of white paint and maybe a bit of black paint/tar and some slight discolored areas..  smallish spots, but there.  they are work pants and have been worked in...
