1952 Cuban Baseball League
Championship Series Program - Unscored
Includes Batista Presidential Ad

This program is from the 1952 Cuban Professional Baseball League championship series which included the following teams:  Habana, Cienfuegos, Almandares and Marianao.  The tournament was eventually won by Habana, who ended the season undefeated.  They also went on to win the 1952 Caribbean Series also.  This series took place during the week of February 10th, 1952.

There are many star players innvolved in this series.  In the lineup for Habana were several members of the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame including Edmundo Amoros (Sandy), J. Moreno, M. Hidalgo and Formental.  On other teams were Ray Dandridge, Don Zimmer and other Cuban stars.

Another interesting aspect of this program is an ad placed in the program for the Presidential campaign of Fulgencio Batista, who billed himself as "the most athletic of the presidential candidates".  On March 10, 1952, less than one month after this series ended, Batista decided not to wait for the election and staged a coup, establishing a military dictatorship in Cuba.

Please look at the photos for the item's condition.  There a couple of light creases and some extraneous writing on a few pages.  There is also minor edge and corner wear.
