There have been a slew of OS clones made in different countries. This Magnum engine is a Taiwanese built clone of the popular OS FP 40 plain bearing engine.
Don’t be fooled by the country of manufacture, the Taiwanese built engine quality has been favorably compared to their Japanese cousins.
True ABC piston and liner not ABN or steel. Many parts interchangeable with Royal, Thunder Tiger, APS and Leo engines. Socket head cap screw fasteners from factory.
This engine is new in box, never mounted or seen fuel.
It has
been fitted with a fixed venturi with a bore of .250” and an Enya needle valve fine
adjustments and good fuel draw. Replacement parts or assemblies for the needle valve can be purchased at "The Model Airplane Store"
Open up the venturi for more power if you wish. Needle position can be oriented by loosening the venturi clamp nut and rotating as desired.
It will produce equivalent power to most vintage plain bearing .45 or .50 engines with nicer handling, less weight and lower fuel consumption.
Use it for speed limit combat, sport, stunt or as a training motor.
Good hand starting characteristics hot or cold, and easy needle settings. Or convert it back to R/C and use it in selected carrier events. Only need to loosen one nut to reinstall the carb.
Motor comes with original box, muffler (still in unopened package), original carburetor and operating instructions/decal package (Unopened).
These motors did not come with a glow plug so I have included a new OS Max #8.
Note that this is a plain bearing more and should have castor oil in the fuel. Treat it with respect and it will last for years.
