A vintage 'Pantheon SG4' Portable four tube radio set, 1928-1930.

In good clean condition, all tubes are original and have working 2 Volt heaters, continuity tested and carefully run up to operating voltage using a Lab. power supply.  This radio set would have needed a lead acid single cell accumulator and high voltage battery for operation.

The set has been expertly rewired.  I hear cries of 'NOOO!, but thankfully, it had been badly rewired in the 1950's or 60's with rubber covered wire and the insulation was badly perished.  The cables and perished insulation from the early rewire job will be included in a sealed bag.  All wiring markers and connectors are original.

It uses some 'Telsen' parts such as coils and chokes, the only downside is the damaged carrying handle which has deteriorated over ninety years or so.  Originally, there was a wire inside that, although terminated, was not connected to anything.  This wire has been reproduced in the rewire...

The speaker is of the fixed cone / moving magnet type and works well.

No batteries are supplied!

It will be sent inside a huge box with an entire roll of bubblewrap, around six inches protection in every direction.  Packed, it is heavy, hence the shipping cost.

Collection is encouraged.
