Interesting matching pair of old coloured engravings in heavy gilt frames 

Great detail in both works. One appears to be a father or teacher with 2 girls studying and the other is a mother and daughter handling a baby

The works appear to be very old and the paper is evenly discoloured with age 

I have referenced Adriaen Van Ostade as the scene with baby is a reverse of the Van Ostade work Little girl playing with a baby in its mothers arms in the Met collection. 

The work for sale is more detailed than the Ostade work and hand coloured 

There is a margin to the left side and above both works just visible

Identical framing in heavy gilt with some chips. The frames measure 177mm by 157mm. Both works have paper covered backs
