For auction is a Vintage General Electric Tube Radio,Model 250, circa 1946/47.  This is a 5-tubeAC / Battery powered portable radio.  I believe the case is cast aluminum.

I am auctioning this piece strictly AS-IS.  This radio is currently NOT working and will need repair / restoration or might just be usable for parts or decoration.

This piece has the kinds of dings and scuffs you would expect from a vintage piece but the case is in overall good shape.  The knobs and dial seem to be original, as does the power cord.

This piece can use a good cleaning but I didn’t do anything to the surface as I know collectors like to determine what needs done.

This is a nice radio, and I honestly hate to put it up for auction, but I don’t have the time to give it the attention it needs – I hope someone can appreciate it enough to fully restore it.

This would be a great project radio, or sadly a parts radio.  Either way, it is offered AS-IS.

This is a heavy radio, given its metal case.  I estimate it will be about 22-23 pounds when boxed for shipping.  If you want to pick it up, I will drive up to 10 miles from zip code 44001 (NE Ohio) to meet you, depending on my schedule.

I occasionally get asked if I will‘part-out’ or sell parts to a radio.  The short answer is ‘no’. While I appreciate that you may just need that one part, this only leaves me with an even less functional radio and someone else will have to replace the part you now have.  Please don’t ask if I will do this.  Thanks for understanding.

Please ask any questions you may have – thanks for looking.

I do NOT believe in making money on shipping.  If the actual shipping cost is significantly less than what I have charged, I will refund you the difference via EBay.  Shipping is calculated to your zip code.

Please understand that I cannot control what the Post Office charges for shipping.

Please ask any questions you have.

Thank you!
