This working fully restored Western Electric 500 Desk Telephone, early edition, manufactured in December of 1954 is in
immaculate condition. No cracks, chips, damage of any kind. The phone has been completely disassembled
professionally cleaned and sanitized..and comes from a smoke free home.

The 500 desk set replaced the Western Electric 302. Upon it's introduction in 1952 it was widely popular
and remained the workhorse phone of the Bell System for almost 50 years. The Western Electric was the
most popular ( and reliable ) Telephone in the world !

The original Bakelite G1 handset was multi layer sanded, buffed and polished to a very nice sheen.

The Thermo Plastic body was wet hand sanded with five decreasing sandpaper grits, finally hand polished
buffed. Note the Bakelite Switch Hook Plungers. The later versions were clear plastic. No clear coat applied
on this phone.

I have been restoring Vintage Telephones for 25 years...as long as I have had an eBay presence.

The two original brass bells, each tuned slightly different, provide a nostalgic ring long since forgotten.

Trivia Note: If you have an iPhone and use the 'Old Phone Ringer' sound, it came from the
Western Electric 500 Desk Phone : )

If you have copper line, dial service you're good to go...just plug in. If you have Internet / Cable based
