This is a very hard to find 1940 Zenith 8S443 tabletop radio. It uses the deep 8-tube chassis from the console 8S463 in an extremely large table cabinet.

The chassis has had all paper and electrolytic capacitors replaced, a dropping resistor installed to lower incoming line voltage, and the 6X5 tube replaced with a diode and resistor. New dial belt is installed as well as a good tuning eye. Radio plays well though band switch is a bit loose and fiddly, and the speaker voice coil has some rubbing at lower volumes.

Cabinet is OK, has some wear on the photo finish and veneer on top has been replaced at some point. There's a chip in the lower trim corner on the right side of the cabinet.

Radio is absolutely *massive* and heavy - just about 40lbs! - and will be shipped in a huge box. It will not be cheap! If it ends up being less than the cost to ship listed here (usually is!), I always refund the difference.

Buyer pays shipping, radio is sold as is due to being a vintage electronic item. Please look at photos and ask any questions before bidding. Thanks for looking!
