This unique antique thimble from a mystery maker features many scenes including a grandfather clock, mother and daughter, fireplace and a basket of sewing materials on a fancy table.

This thimble has no ornamentation or personalization.  It has no holes or dents and it nicely in round. Above the size 8 are some interesting stamps that remind me of the English Assay Office stamps, but they are not sharp enough to see them clearly.  It is very possible that there are five letters above these stamps that are not readable but could likely be the maker's company name.  This is very tall thimble- 26mm and is 16mm wide and weighs 7.9g.

As you know if you have purchased a thimble from me before, my mom collected for decades and bought these all from dealers around the country when she travelled, but mostly from ones in Southern California where she lived.  So, keep looking if you are a thimble collector because I can ship 3-4+ for the same price to you.

I'll be glad to combine shipping if you win several thimbles from me, just let me know and I will wait for the auctions you bid on to end before shipping.  See my feedback from many collectors who are enjoying these little historical prizes as part of their collection now.

From thimble collector Sandi-"The 5 letters that are hard to make out are FRANCE and the little diamond shape probably has the mark for Lenain. These French thimbles were remade from the original dyes in the 1970's. I hope this helps you."
