This is one of a series of five plates that are hand painted Japanese Kutani.  They appear to tell a story such as an opera or fairy tale.  I am not sure the order in which they belong and especially do not know where to fit this one in.  They have diagonal corners which are decorated in gilt and extremely detailed and colorful figures.  None of them are marked at all.  Each is 8 & 1/2" wide by 8 & 3/4" tall with an unglazed foot rim on the back.  They are beautiful and, I think, rare.
