Rare 1878 Antique German Bohemian Cut Glass Beer Stein Fawn/Bacchus Glass Finial

A rare antique German wheel cut crystal/glass beer stein with super glass finial top of a faun holding a flask.Whilst the Faun is acid etched with a satin finish the beer flask is clear.

Standing on a heavy star cut pedestal base with heavy faceted cut sides with pewter thumblift and top  inscribed "......30th April '78" which was probably to celebrate a wedding,alliance or similar.

In generally very good undamaged condition has surface wear  light scratching,marking etc...All commensurate with its age and use.

Slight marks from makers tools etc .... Which is the norm. Nothing major,but noted.And in no way detracts the beauty of this exceptional stein that displays very well.

Has a height of 10.75"and a 3.5"base.

A worthy addition to any serious collection.
