A*NOTE* Please be sure to carefully examine all photos and read the written description below. I make every effort to accurately describe the item, defects and all, via both the written description and photos. The photos are to be considered part of the description.  The answers to most questions can be found in the listing but I am happy to answer any additional questions you may have. I do not charge packing, packaging or handling fees. I personally pay to insure each item.  For multiple purchases, please note that not all items can be packed together safely or for a lesser cost, but I am happy to combine items for shipping when possible.

Wonderful and rare small antique buttocks or melon egg basket in old red paint and in very good condition. Sixteen ribs, bent wood handle. Circular top rim measures 5 1/2" in diameter. Height to the top rim is 3" and height to the top of the handle is approx. 5". No holes or repairs. I find one tiny piece of vertical splint inside the basket just under the top rim with a break. I apologize for the interior dust which I will vacuum out should the basket sell. This wonderful little basket was purchased from a dealer friend several years ago and it has been a prized piece in my collection of antique baskets.

I am happy to combine multiple purchases in one box whenever possible, and safe to do so, in order to save you money on shipping costs. If you have won an item and are planning to bid on another, please let me know before I pack up your first purchase and send an invoice.

Buyer pays shipping.  I ship items either via the US Postal Service or UPS Ground.  If you are unhappy with the shipping charges you paid, it is more appropriate to register your displeasure with either the US Postal Service or UPS, (not the ebay feedback rating system),  since they are the ones who set the rates I charge you.  Payment must be received within 5 days.

Please take a moment to view my other listings of antiques, mostly primitives, and items in hard to find and most coveted old paint. Thanks for looking.

A note about AAFA: AAFA stands for Antique Americana & Folk Art. I am pleased to be among a select group of invited Ebay sellers who specialize in the sale of antiques, primitives and folk art. Not all of the items I sell meet the AAFA criteria, so be assured that I will apply the AAFA tag only when it is appropriate to do so. When you see AAFA in an item title, it should mean that the item is a true unenhanced antique and not a “vintage”, altered, or newly crafted piece. There are some unauthorized ebay sellers who are applying the AAFA banner without permission to items that do not meet our criteria. I see this on a daily basis despite polite reminders from authorized sellers. Reproductions, even good ones, have NO PLACE under an AAFA listing, Sellers who do this are trying to capitalize on a reputation and client base that we have attempted to build over the past 4 years. Before bidding on an “AAFA” item, please read the seller’s description carefully, (be wary of wording like, “AAFA Like”,  “Antique Like” or “antique style“), and review their feedback. We are working to challenge any false use of “AAFA”.
