Vintage & unusual, IRON CANNON BALL of approx. 2-1/2 inches in diameter, with a much darkened patina from age & weather, and weighing about two pounds, two & one half ounces, just as shown here. Recently purchased at a local Estate, this oldie Cannon Ball was said to have been picked up long ago while camping here on the Coastal Bend of Texas after WWII. We were intrigued enough to look it over carefully of course, and noted the nicks & flats, dents & scrapes carefully, as well as hefting it in hand to judge the the weight of it. Heavy... the electronic scale here in the office shows it to weigh in at 2 Lbs. # & 6 Oz. Condition is very good overall w/ NO unsightly cracks, splits, or major corrosion.
